Why Your Website Doesn't Need to Take 3 Months (Copy)
If you've been quoted a website timeline of six, eight, or even twelve weeks, you're not imagining things — that's the industry standard. But it's not the only option, and for most small businesses, it's not even a good one.
From one easy-going Aussie biz to another … here's why a slower timeline isn't actually serving you, and how a one-week build works instead. It can be so much easier and stress-free than you think!
The problem with long website timelines
The longer a project drags on, the more it costs you — not just in agency fees, but in missed opportunities. Every week without a live website is a week of:
Potential customers finding your competitors instead of you
Referrals going nowhere because there's no website to send people to
Momentum lost, because the excitement of starting a new business or rebrand fades the longer you wait
Long timelines also tend to create scope creep. The longer a project sits open, the more "just one more thing" gets added, and the harder it becomes to actually finish.
Why most agencies take so long
It's rarely about the actual work and more about the workload. A website build itself — design, content, development — can realistically be done in days. What stretches it out is usually:
You can't get the web designer on the phone, so simple questions turn into days of back-and-forth
Slow revision cycles and turnaround times
Waiting on content, copy, or approvals to bounce between multiple people
Juggling too many clients at once, so your project sits in a queue
Overly complex processes better suited to enterprise builds than small business sites
None of that adds value to your actual website. It just adds time.
How it works
Discovery call — We chat to confirm it's a good fit for your business and I give you a price.
Invoice and business info form — Once you're ready to go ahead, I'll send an invoice along with a Google Drive folder containing a business information form. This is where you provide the details, content, and direction for your new site.
Demo site within 24 hours — Once the invoice is paid in full and your business information is submitted, I get started right away. Within 24 hours, you'll have a demo site ready for review, showing your fonts, colour palette, and overall look and feel.
You get full access from day one — You'll set up your own Squarespace subscription and login, so you have direct ownership and access from the start. I'll send you a private link so you can view the site on your phone or desktop as it develops.
Full site build — Once you're happy with the direction, I build out the rest of the site: all pages, content, links, forms, and SEO.
Refinement (days 6–7) — The final days are for polishing any last changes, connecting your domain, and finishing off SEO.
Handover (day 7) — Your website goes live and complete. You get two weeks of free support after launch, and full ownership and access to edit and update the site whenever you need. After the two-week handover period, I'm still just a message away if you'd prefer to delegate changes — this is billed hourly.
More pages or customisation can add additional days/time.
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
I had an amazing experience with Tia. She understood my brief, was extremely efficient and always available if I had any questions or concerns. I needed a website done within a week. She was amazing. Can’t recommend highly enough and love the finished product.

Who this is for
Overall, any service-based business — but it's especially powerful for exposure for the trades and construction industries, from home maintenance to drilling and civil contractors — where being found online, on Google, and through AI search quickly, and looking credible to commercial clients, matters just as much as it does for any other business.
If you're in this space, you're probably dealing with:
Potential clients and leads struggling to find your business
Having no online presence, like social media, to show your work — a website solves this problem
Being recommended or referred, then having nowhere professional to send people to check you out
Missing out on tenders or enquiries because there's no website showing your completed projects, equipment, or credentials
Competitors who look more established simply because they have a proper website and you don't
No time to sit through a months-long build process while you're running jobs
What it doesn't mean
Fast doesn't mean rushed or generic. It means efficient. People — and AI search tools — want clear answers fast, not a website stuffed with fluff. Less is more.
You still get a site built around your brand and your goals — it's just built without the delays that don't add value.
